Back to School

A lot of school buses

School’s back in session in our part of town. Which means Gremlin is already getting Thinking Laps “…just for making people laugh”. Interpretation: Being the class clown has it’s down side. Gremlin has a hard time keeping the oxygen level in his system high enough which makes him sleepy which turns him into a Super Nova in the attempt to fight the heavy eyes.  Mrs. A has her work cut out for her!

Oldman starts 5th grade which means lockers and changing classes for subjects. He was a wreck the first day but quickly realized that time FLIES when you’re having to switch classes. He hasn’t quite figured out how to make his locker work for him, but he’s getting adjusted.

My classes get started back up on Thursday and I’ll be one busy lady — 2 online classes and 1 face-to-face! I’m excited though. I’m ready to get going on this.

As busy as we all will be, we’re ready to get back to our routine. As wonderful as summer break is, my family lives and dies by a daily routine. There are not many surprises…the kids know what to expect so it provides a comfortable atmosphere for them. My oldest, Oldman, always comes home from school saying, “Ah…doesn’t this place just feel safe.” When he first said it, I was kind of sad for him, but if our house makes him feel that way then…SUCCESS!

I’m proud of my boys and actually a little proud of myself. I hope we have a great school year and come out on top!

Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” –Christopher Robin to Pooh

We enjoy our summers, but I enjoy the kids being back in school. They need the routine it gives us.….heaven knows the afternoons of homework about send me over the edge!

Good for you too! Best of luck with your classes.
