WFMW – Summer boredom series

This sounds lamely simple but before I started using it, my boys made me gray!

Schedule Routine.

Profound…I know.

I took a small dry erase board and put it up in the kitchen with the weeks schedule by the hours. This way the boys would wake up and know exactly when something was going to occur. Example:

7-9 Breakfast, brush teeth, put away clean clothes
9  Snack 
9-11:30 Library or Putt-Putt or Park or Zoo, etc
11:30-12 Lunch
12:30-2:30 Play outside (Bikes, watergun fights, sprinkler/slip-n-slide fun, etc)
2:30 Cool snacks (frozen grapes, popsicles, smoothies, etc)
3:00-5:00 Inside games, toys, video games
5:00-5:30 Help with dinner
6:00 Dinner
7:00-8:00 Play outside or go for a walk/bike ride
8:00 – Start getting cleaned up and ready for bed, read until bedtime.

This kind of schedule actually freed me up for more time to write and clean the house (oh yea!). I also didn’t have to Works for Me Wednesdayhear, “Mom, what can I do?” “Mom, I’m bored!” “Mom, He’s hitting me!”…oh wait…they still do that. Oh well, 2 out of 3 ain’t half bad!
