Our butts are officially kicked…
Apparently Mother Nature has an issue with January 7th. On that date last year she had an ice tantrum of all tantrums. Personally we were without electricity(heat) and water for 9 days. Our house got down to the 30’s.
On Monday she threw a completely different tantrum for January. We had about 10–12 tornadoes and hail the side of baseballs and designed by Satan.
When everything was said and done our subdivision looked like a gang of hoodlums came through with machine guns and tore up jack. Every house wall facing west was demolished. Cars were totaled financially.
For us, the siding facing west (2 walls) were rippled with holes, our roof pelted, the vent coverings look like they were attacked with baseball bats, all 3 cars were battered. Officially our cars are totaled…it’ll take more money to fix them than they’re worth. We didn’t even bother having the van appraised.
We have a guy coming out today to look at the house. We did get a leak in the house, but not too bad. We actually were better off than most as we didn’t have any windows on the west side of the house, and none of the windows in our cars were busted out.
Not sure how this is all going to play out, but I can tell you this: January 7 of next year I’ll be in Tahiti!

OMG OMG GiGi I didn’t know it was that bad down there. I am so sorry you and the boys had to go through that, it must have been horrifying and scary. GiJenn, I hate that I didn’t check more carefully, please tell me how I can help now. I can come down next week and help with cleanup, need me? I need the exercise anyway. How absolutely frightening. I’m thankful you & your family are ok but sorry for all the devastation around you. Hopefully, the cost to repair your house won’t be exorbitant.

It was a wild ride, wasn’t it! We were on the side of the road in two different vehicles. At first the hail didn’t bother me, but when it got bigger, that was a different story. Then I felt the car starting to move from the wind. That would be when I started pleading the blood of Jesus! And knowing my baby and husband were behind me, but I couldn’t see them and know they were okay! That would be when the tears started. Whew, baby, I vote for ice storms instead.
Congratulations for your new blog! Sorry I visit here so late, my youngest son is sick this week… reading this post, I thank God you all are okay… sorry to hear what you have gone through, you are strong!
